THE Carlyle Group Is Getting Into Australia
THE Carlyle Group is getting a foot on the Aussie property ladder.
The private equity firm and Leighton Holdings’s 100 per cent owned Leighton Properties -- through a joint venture -- acquired a 3752 square metre site from the Brisbane Housing Company for its Mosaic project.

The $150 million Mosaic precinct, in Brisbane’s Fortitutde Valley, will feature an 18-storey residential tower of 212 apartments, at least 3500 square meters of retail and commercial space and a proposed 48-room boutique hotel. Completion and settlements are anticipated to commence during the first quarter of 2014.
